The Wilderness Medical Society encourages and supports research that promotes a greater understanding of the wilderness environment and its intersection with human activity. To this end, the WMS has established a Research Committee of members with a diverse array of expertise in wilderness medicine research. Look at the areas of expertise listed for each Research Committee member. We encourage WMS members to seek out these individuals as a resource to refining your research idea or expanding on ways to answer your research questions. Furthermore, the WMS has opportunities for grant funding, and venues to present your research at national summer meetings for exposure and feedback from your peers.
